These firms are ranked by the largest maximum loss they allow on a 50K account, across all of their plans. A bigger drawdown gives you more room before the account fails, but the type matters as much as the size: a static limit stays put, while a trailing limit follows your profits up.

Bigger is not always looser
Compare drawdowns of the same type. A $5,000 static max loss never moves, so every dollar of profit widens your cushion. A $2,000 end-of-day trailing drawdown rises with your best closing balance, so the cushion can shrink after a good day. Intraday trailing is the tightest, because it also follows open profit. See trailing drawdown explained, or try the drawdown simulator with your own days.
Check the daily loss limit too
Most forex firms with a large max loss also have a daily loss limit, often 4% or 5% of the account. On a 50K account that is $2,000 to $2,500 in one day, whatever the overall drawdown. Each review lists both.
Futures vs forex
Forex and CFD firms usually set the max loss as a percentage of the account, often 8% to 12%. Futures firms usually set a fixed dollar amount instead, typically $2,000 (sometimes $2,500) on a 50K account, usually trailing.
Questions traders ask
Which prop firm has the biggest drawdown?
Among the firms we track, the largest 50K max loss is at the top of the list on this page, with the plan it applies to. Rankings change when firms change their rules, so check the date at the top.
Is a static or trailing drawdown better?
For the same dollar amount, static is easier: the limit never moves, so profits add to your cushion. A trailing drawdown follows your highest balance up, which can leave you with less room after a good run.
